Little Angels Christian Montessori School is proud to offer a Christian environment with an emphasis on the Montessori Method of education for children ages 2 1/2 through six years old of all religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds. LACMS is a state licensed, non-profit school. Our Mission Statement clearly sets forth our intentions: Mission Statement -- Little Angels Christian Montessori School is an outreach of Grace Lutheran Church which seeks to provide a warm, loving Christian and Montessori-based learning environment for preschool children ages 2 1/2 through 6 years old. Our teachers and staff model God's unconditional love for each child. The unique value of every child, teacher and parent is recognized and respected. The teachers are trained and the classrooms prepared using the Montessori Method of Education. Through implementation of this philosophy, our goal is twofold: assisting each child to develop his or her potential socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically, and providing an environment rich in opportunities for children to discover the world around them while instilling independence and increasing concentration. Little Angels Christian Montessori School is founded upon the concept of cooperation and mutual support. Parents, church members, staff and friends dedicate their time, talent and resources for the betterment of the school. Our school consists of two classrooms. Our "Toddler Class" is for children ages 2 1/2 to 3. This classroom serves the needs of 12 children under the supervision of two teachers. Children are not required to be toilet trained to attend LACMS. The Toddler Class meets five mornings from 8:30 - 11:30. Children may enroll for a two day, three day or five day program. Full day programs are also available. Our "3/6 Class" serves children ages 3 to 6 years old and includes the kindergarten curriculum. This classroom serves the needs of 23 children under the supervision of three teachers. The 3/6 Class meets five days 8:30 - 11:30 or 12:30 - 3:30. A full day option is also available. The school year runs from September through June and is similar to the Livingston Public School calendar. We have on-site parking for parents who commute to New York City. Please call our school director, Mrs. Tawana Hobday at the school to set up a tour of the classrooms and for information regarding our fees for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 school years. Our Summer Camp program "Discovering God's Creation" will be held from Monday, June 23 through Friday, August 1, 2008. Plans are being finalized, and we will publicize them when they are available. The following is a description of last year's program, "Discovering God's Creation": "Enhance your child's summer experience at this program that is designed for 2 to 6 year old children. You may sign you child up for all six weeks or for two week increments. Children do not need to be toilet trained. This summer we will have a separate classroom for 2 year olds and early threes which will meet during Sessions A and B. Camp will meet from 9:00am to 1:00pm each week day. (No camp session on July 4th.) The cost is $280 for returning campers and $300 for new campers. Children can choose activities from the Practical Life, Art, Sensorial, Language and Math areas of the classroom. Outside water play and picnic daily, weather permitting.
